Christophe Laporte

Christophe Laporte is a French road cyclist who rides for Visma | Lease a Bike. He was born in La Seyne-sur-Mer on 11 December 1992. He is a sprinter and classics rider and has taken more than 30 professional wins. In September 2026 the team announced a new contract that keeps him at the team through 2027, 2028 and 2029.

Laporte turned professional with Cofidis in 2014 and stayed with the French team until 2021. His first professional win was the 2015 Tour de Vendée, which he won again in 2017. In 2019 he won the Étoile de Bessèges and the Tour Poitou-Charentes en Nouvelle-Aquitaine overall.

He joined Jumbo-Visma, now Visma | Lease a Bike, for 2022 and won stage 1 of Paris–Nice that March, his first win at WorldTour level. Later that year he won stage 19 of the Tour de France in Cahors, took the overall title at the Danmark Rundt and won the silver medal in the world championship road race in Wollongong. In 2023 he won Gent–Wevelgem and Dwars door Vlaanderen, won stages at the Critérium du Dauphiné and took the European championship road race. He was named best French road rider of the year, the Vélo d’Or français. At the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris he won the bronze medal in the road race, and he ended that season with a win at Paris–Tours.

In 2025 an infection with cytomegalovirus kept him out of the spring classics and the Tour de France. He returned in August, was second at Paris–Tours and won the Tour of Holland in October.

In 2026 he won the first stage of the Vuelta a Andalucía Ruta del Sol on 18 February, but he left the race on the final stage after a crash. In the classics he was fourth at Omloop Nieuwsblad, third at Gent–Wevelgem, ninth at the Tour of Flanders and fifth at Paris–Roubaix. On 14 May the team announced that he would miss the Tour de France after tearing a quadriceps muscle in a training crash. He was fourth overall at the PostNord Tour of Denmark at the start of August, started the Vuelta a España, and finished third at Paris–Tours on 11 October.
