Biography

Julius Johansen is a Danish road and track cyclist, born on 13 September 1999 in Blovstrød. He is 1.88 m tall; his team and ProCyclingStats give his weight as 77 kg. He joined UAE Team Emirates in 2025, and the team’s official roster confirms him for 2026.

In 2017, as a junior, Johansen won the junior road race at the World Championships in Bergen, both Danish junior titles on the road and the junior world titles in the omnium and the madison on the track. On the track he went on to ride the team pursuit for Denmark at elite level: silver at the 2018 World Championships, bronze in 2019, European champion in 2019 and world champion in Berlin in 2020.

On the road he rode for the Danish Continental team ColoQuick in 2018 and 2019, winning Olympia’s Tour in 2018, and for Uno-X in 2020 and 2021, when he won the Danish under-23 road and time trial titles in 2020. He moved up to the WorldTour with Intermarché–Wanty in 2022 and 2023 and rode the Vuelta a España in both years, finishing 129th and then 98th. In 2024 he raced for the Portuguese Continental team Sabgal–Anicolor, before joining UAE for 2025.

In 2026 he won five times, always in short time trials. He won the opening time trial of O Gran Camiño in A Coruña on 14 April, the prologue of the Boucles de la Mayenne on 28 May and the stage 1b time trial of the Sibiu Cycling Tour on 4 July. In August he won twice at the Volta a Portugal: the prologue in Lisbon on 5 August and the stage 5 time trial from Anadia to Águeda on 10 August. Earlier in the year he was second on the first stage of the Vuelta a la Región de Murcia and rode the Belgian spring classics. In October 2025 the team announced a contract extension until the end of 2026; ProCyclingStats now lists him with UAE until 2028.
