Cian Uijtdebroeks

Cian Uijtdebroeks is a Belgian climber and general classification rider who has ridden for Movistar Team since 2026. He was born in Abolens on 28 February 2003. He is 1.85 m tall and weighs 68 kg. He came to Movistar after two seasons at Visma | Lease a Bike; Spanish Wikipedia reports that Visma released him on 3 October 2025 and that he signed with Movistar until 2029.

As a young rider he raced for Sprint 2000 Charleroi and then for the junior team Acrog–Tormans Balen, where he won the junior Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne in 2020 and the Belgian junior time trial title in 2021. Bora–hansgrohe announced a multi-year contract with him in December 2020. He turned professional with the German team in 2022 and in August of that year won the Tour de l’Avenir, the main under-23 stage race, taking stages 7 and 8 on the way.

In 2023 he was sixth overall at the Tour de Romandie, seventh at the Tour de Suisse and eighth in his first Grand Tour, the Vuelta a España, where he was also second in the young rider classification. A dispute between Bora–hansgrohe and Visma over his contract was settled in December 2023, and he rode for Visma in 2024 and 2025. In 2024 he supported Jonas Vingegaard at Tirreno–Adriatico, finishing seventh overall, and he wore the white jersey of best young rider for several days at the Giro d’Italia. In 2025 he lost much of the season to injury, including one in June when he was hit by a car in training. After returning in August he won the Tour de l’Ain, taking his first professional victory, and finished second overall at the Czech Tour.

In 2026 a crash at the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana in February disrupted the start of his season, according to Movistar. He then finished eighth overall at the Volta a Catalunya, fifth at Milano–Torino, 12th at the Itzulia Basque Country and seventh overall at the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Movistar named him leader for the Tour de France, his first, but the team withdrew him on 9 July after six stages because of health problems he had carried from the start of the race. He started the Vuelta a España in August but did not start stage 5.
