Biography

Luke Tuckwell is an Australian cyclist, born on 21 June 2004 in Orange, New South Wales. He raced for the Australian club teams InForm TMX MAKE in 2022 and Bathurst CC in 2023, and wrote in a Cyclingnews column that moving to Europe at the age of 17 changed his life. He rode as a stagiaire for Trinity Racing from August 2023 and as a full member of the team in 2024.

His 2024 season brought his first major result: he won the Rás Mumhan, along with its points and young rider classifications. He also finished fifth at the Flèche Ardennaise, sixth overall at the Ronde de l’Isard and tenth overall at the Giro Next Gen. In 2025 he joined the Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe Rookies, the team’s development squad, and finished second overall at the Giro Next Gen, eighth at Liège–Bastogne–Liège Espoirs and tenth overall at the Tour de l’Avenir. On 1 September 2025 it was reported that he had signed a professional contract and would move up to the WorldTour team. Italian outlet Tuttobiciweb described him as a stage-race specialist and a young climber.

His first WorldTour season, 2026, has been built around stage races. He finished 63rd overall at the Tour Down Under in January, fourth in its young rider classification, and sixth overall at the Tour de Romandie in early May, third in the young rider classification. In June he finished second overall at the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. He was third on stage 6 on 12 June and, according to Cyclingnews, wore the yellow jersey of race leader for two days before the race ended on 14 June.

In August and September he rode his first Grand Tour, the Vuelta a España, and finished 46th overall and 13th in the young rider classification. He did not finish the World Championships road race on 27 September. ProCyclingStats lists no professional wins for him yet, and shows him with the team through 2028.
