Carlos Rodríguez has endured a difficult opening week at La Vuelta 2026, but the Spanish rider remains optimistic about his chances of rediscovering his best form in the second half of the race.

Carlos Rodríguez Remains Optimistic Despite Difficult Vuelta Start

Carlos Rodríguez has admitted that the opening week of the Vuelta a España 2026 has fallen below his expectations, but the Spanish rider is refusing to give up on his race.

The Netcompany INEOS rider entered the Vuelta with ambitions of making an impact after missing the Tour de France, but his early performances have not allowed him to challenge for the general classification. This follows the dramatic shift in the race after the Tadej Pogačar crash.

Despite the disappointment, Rodríguez believes there is still plenty of time to turn his race around. He is now focusing on supporting teammate Oscar Onley, who is performing exceptionally well.

“I still think the best is yet to come.”
