The biggest race in trail running is officially underway.
The 2026 UTMB has started in Chamonix, with elite runners from around the world taking on one of the most demanding races in the sport.
The iconic UTMB course covers around 174 kilometres and 10,000 metres of elevation gain, taking runners through the spectacular landscapes around Mont Blanc.After days of exciting racing at the UTMB Mont-Blanc event, including OCC, TDS and CCC, all eyes are now on the main event.
The UTMB race started on Friday, August 28, at 17:45 local time in Chamonix. The race is expected to deliver another unforgettable battle as runners face long distances, mountain climbs and changing conditions.Earlier on Friday, the CCC delivered strong performances, with Cristian Minoggio and Yngvild Kaspersen taking victory.
